    • 7th century CE, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, 32:141:
      [] أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ —صَلَّى اللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ— رَكِبَ حِمَارًا عَلَيْهِ إِكَافٌ تَحْتَهُ قَطِيفَةٌ فَدَكِيَّةٌ وَأَرْدَفَ وَرَاءَهُ أُسَامَةَ
      [] ʔaḵbarahu ʔanna n-nabiyya —ṣallā llāhu ʕalayhi wasallama— rakiba ḥimāran ʕalayhi ʔikāfun taḥtahu qaṭīfatun fadakiyyatun waʔardafa warāʔahu ʔusāmata
      [] The Prophet (ﷺ) rode a donkey. It had on it a saddle under which was a mattress made at Fadak. Behind him he seated Usama.
