Etymology
[edit]Unknown, likely a lost Aramaic word that was borrowed comparatively early into Arabic, perhaps related to Jewish Palestinian Aramaic קוחא and Classical Syriac ܩܘܚܐ (qūḥā, “stalk; petiole”).
