[edit]Borrowed from Aramaic אֵסְכּוּפְתָא (ʾeskūp̄ətā) / אִיסְכּוּפְתָא (ʾiskūp̄ətā) ܐܶܣܟܽܘܦܬܳܐ (ʾeskūp̄əṯā, “threshold, lintel”), from Akkadian 𒄿𒇻 (KUN4 /askuppatu/, “threshold, lintel”), from 𒄿𒇻 (KUN4 /askuppu/, “stone slab; threshold, lintel”).
