Etymology
[edit]From آشاغی (aşağı, “lower, inferior”) + ـلامق (-lamak, suffix forming infinitives from nouns or adjectives).

- (transitive) to belittle, degrade, deprecate, denigrate, to knowingly say that something is smaller or less important than it actually is
- Synonyms: آز كوسترمك (az göstermek), كوچولتمك (küçültmek)
- (intransitive) to descend, come down, to physically move or pass from a higher to a lower place or position, to move downwards
