Etymology
[edit]Morphologically from آدی (adı), inflection of آد (ad, “name”), + یامان (yaman, “bad, wicked”), but the true meaning of the toponym remains unclear. Before 1926 the city was known as حصن منصور (hısn-ı mansur).
