Adjective

שווה / שָׁוֶה • (shavé) (feminine שווה / שָׁוָה, masculine plural שווים / שָׁוִים, feminine plural שָׁווֹת)

1. equal, identical (the same in all respects, having the same value)

   כולם שווים בפני החוק, חוץ מאלה ששווים יותר.

   kulám shavím bifnéi hakhók, khúts miéle sheshavím yotér.

   Everyone is equal before the law, except those who are more equal/are worth more.

   The double entendre is deliberate, see No 2 below

2. worth (having the value of)

   כולם שווים בפני החוק, חוץ מאלה ששווים יותר.
