Possibly borrowed from Polish fizjonomia, ultimately from Late Latin physiognomia, from Ancient Greek φυσιογνωμίᾱ (phusiognōmíā, physiology), from φύσις (phúsis, physique, appearance) + γνώμη (gnṓmē, means of knowing).
