[edit]Possibly borrowed from Polish fizjonomia, ultimately from Late Latin physiognomia, from Ancient Greek φυσιογνωμίᾱ (phusiognōmíā, “physiology”), from φύσις (phúsis, “physique, appearance”) + γνώμη (gnṓmē, “means of knowing”).
