Yiddish
[edit]Etymology
[edit]From northern Middle High German pissen and Middle Low German pissen. Perhaps borrowed through Middle Dutch pissen from Old French pissier, from Vulgar Latin *pīssiāre, probably of echoic origin, though the Germanic words are also sometimes considered independent onomatopoeias.
