  1. to operate, to perform surgery
    • Tanach, 1 Kings 18:33, with translation of the Jewish Publication Society:
      וַיַּעֲרֹךְ אֶת־הָעֵצִים וַיְנַתַּח אֶת־הַפָּר וַיָּשֶׂם עַל־הָעֵצִים.
      vayya'aróch et-ha'etzím vayənattáḥ et-happár vayyásem 'al-ha'etzím.
      And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid it on the wood.
