ניקר / נִקֵּר (nikér) (pi'el construction)

  1. to dig, chisel (esp. to whet a millstone).
  2. to bore, perforate; to put out.
    • Numbers 16:14
      הַעֵינֵי הָאֲנָשִׁים הָהֵם, תְּנַקֵּר
      Wilt thou put out the eyes of these men?"[1]
  3. (esp. (of birds, mice, serpents etc.) to pick, gnaw at.
