[edit]Borrowed from Belarusian малі́ннік (malínnik) and Russian мали́нник (malínnik, “raspberry thicket”), albeit with a shift in syllable stress. Compare also Bulgarian малина́к (malinák). By surface analysis, מאַלינע (maline) + ־ניק (-nik) or ־יק (-ik).
