טְרַנְסְקְרִיפְּצְיָה • (transkríptsya) f

1. (linguistics) A transcription, a transliteration: a system of transcribing words from one script to another.
   • 1919, Ze'ev Jabotinsky, ספרים (s'farím, “Books”), page 3:

     צריך להשתמש גם בהקלה המקובלת מכבר ברוב הספרים ללמוד שפות מזרחיות: על יד כל מלה עברית תבוא טרנסקריפציה לטינית.

     tsaríkh l'hishtamésh gám bahakalá ham'kubélet mik'vár b'róv has'farím lilmód safót mizrakhiyót: ál yád kól milá ivrít tavó transkríptsya latínit.

     One must also use the aid that is already common in most books for learning Oriental languages: next to each Hebrew word will be a Latin transcription.
