Inherited from Middle High German weben, from Old High German weban, from Proto-West Germanic *weban, from Proto-Germanic *webaną. Cognate with German weben.

Verb

וועבן (vebn) (past participle געוועבט (gevebt))

  1. (imperfective) to weave (to form something by passing strands of material over and under one another)
  2. (imperfective) to weave (to spin a cocoon or similar)
  3. (intransitive, reflexive with זיך (zikh)) to take shape, take form
