הִשְׁכִּיב (hishkiv) (hif'il construction, passive counterpart הושכב / הֻשְׁכַּב)

  1. (transitive) to lay down, to put to bed
    • הַשְׁכִּיבֵֽנוּ יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ לְשָׁלוֹם וְהַעֲמִידֵֽנוּ מַלְכֵּֽנוּ לְחַיִּים
      hashkivénu Adonái Elohénu l-shalóm v-ha'amidénu malkénu l-ḥayyím
      Make us lie down, o Lord our God, to peace, and make us stand up, our King, to life.
