Usage notes

[edit]
  • Hebrew הִגִּיעַ is typically used with לְ־ (l'-, to) or ־ָה (-a, -ward, dative case), similar to הָלַךְ (halákh, to walk, to go): “הלך/הגיע למדינה”, ‎ “הלך/הגיע לבית” (or “הלך/הגיע הביתה”). This contrasts with English arrive or be: “be/arrive in a country”, “be/arrive at home” (or “be/arrive home”).
