בָּא בַּיָּמִים (bá bayamím) (pa'al construction)

  1. to be very old
    • Tanach, Genesis 18:11, with translation of the Jewish Publication Society:
      וְאַבְרָהָם וְשָׂרָה זְקֵנִים בָּאִים בַּיָּמִים חָדַל לִהְיוֹת לְשָׂרָה אֹרַח כַּנָּשִׁים׃
      v'avrahám v'sará z'kením ba'ím bayamím khadál lihyót l'sará 'órakh kanashím.
      wəʾaḇrāhām wəśārā zəqēnīm bāʾīm bayyāmīm ḥāḏal lihyōṯ ləśārā ʾṓraḥ kannāšīm.
      Now Abraham and Sarah were old, and well stricken in age; it had ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.

      אֲנִי זָקַנְתִּי בָּאתִי בַּיָּמִים
      'aní zakánti báti bayamím.
      ʾănī zāqántī bā́ṯī bayyāmīm.
