գաթայ
Appearance
Middle Armenian
[edit]Alternative forms
[edit]- գադայ (gaday)
Etymology
[edit]The origin is unknown. The word is found in neighboring languages (see the Descendants section). According to Ačaṙyan these are borrowed from Armenian. Justi derived all from French gâteau but this is not accepted by Ačaṙyan, and J̌ahukyan considers the similarity to be accidental.
