Etymology
[edit]From Middle Persian *bāhuβand, from Old Persian *bādubandah (“arm-band”), from *bāduš, *bādukah (“arm”) + *bandah (“binding, band”), from Proto-Iranian *bándah. For the first part compare բազուկ (bazuk) and for the second بند (band) and -աւանդ (-awand).
