[edit]From earlier *Մուրշեղ (*Muršeł), from Hittite [script needed] (Muršili, “Mursili”). Recorded as a given name of Armenians between the 3rd and 13th centuries.[1] The survival of a Hittite name among Armenians is remarkable.
