[edit]Borrowed from a Turkic source, compare: Karachay-Balkar артмакъ (artmaq), Nogai артпак (artpak), Chuvash уртмах (urtmah).[1] Akin to Kabardian къэлътмакъ (qɛlˢtmaq), Ubykh аԯтмыӄ (alˢtʼməq), Abkhaz арҭмаҟ (artmaqʼ), Abaza артмакъ (artmaqʼ), Svan ართმა̈ყ (artmäq̇), Turkic borrowings.
