[edit]Inherited from Proto-Turkic *yẹlin (“udder”) through the form *jẹliŋ ~ *jẹlig.[1] Cognate with Azerbaijani yelin, Uzbek yelin, Bashkir елен (yelen) and Yakut сирин (sirin).
