[edit]From ју- (ǰu-). Cognate to Kyrgyz жыйын (jıyın, “collecting, gathering, meeting”), Kazakh жыйын (jyiyn, “crowd, throng, assemblage”), Tatar җыен (cıyen, “collecting, gathering”), Bashkir йыйын (yıyın, “company”), Turkish yığın (“bulk”), etc.
