Borrowed from Western European languages, ultimately from Medieval Latin intuitio (a looking at, immediate cognition), from Latin intueri (to look at, consider), from in (in, on) + tueri (to look, watch, guard, see, observe). Compare Russian интуи́ция (intuícija), Belarusian інтуі́цыя (intuícyja), Polish intuicja.
