Etymology 1

Probably a derivation of Proto-Turkic *yara- (“be good enough, be sufficient, be successful”), appended with the causative suffix -t.

Cognate with Tatar ярату (yaratu, “to love”), Kazakh жарату (jaratu, “to like, approve of”), Kyrgyz жаратуу (jaratuu, “to like, approve of”), Uyghur ياراتماق (yaratmaq, “to love, sypathize”).

From *yarat- (“create”), probably also a derivation of Proto-Turkic *yara- (“suit, fit”), appended with the causative suffix -t.

Cognate with Old Uyghur [script needed] (jarat-, “to create”); Uzbek yaratmoq (“to create”), Uyghur ياراتماق (yaratmaq, “to create”), Turkish yaratmak (“to create”); also Hungarian gyárt (“to manufacture”), which comes from an Oghur source.
