Inherited from Old Slovak jabĺčko, from Proto-Slavic *ablъčьko. By surface analysis, яблуко (jabluko, apple) +‎ -ко (-ko). Cognates include Slovak jabĺčko and Carpathian Rusyn я́блочко (jábločko).
