[edit]Blend of чмо (čmo, “scoundrel”) + мо́бик (móbik, “poorly-trained Russian conscript soldier”), as if an abbreviation of части́чно мобилизо́ванный (častíčno mobilizóvannyj, “partially-mobilized”). In reference to the 2022 Russian mobilization being referred to euphemistically in Russian media as a части́чный мобилиза́ция (častíčnyj mobilizácija, “partial mobilization”).
