[edit]Inherited from Old Slovak *calkom, celkom, from a fossilized instrumental form. Cognates include Belarusian ца́лкам (cálkam), цалко́м (calkóm), Czech celkem, Polish całkiem, Slovak celkom, and Ukrainian цілко́м (cilkóm). Related to цали (cali).
