[edit]From Ancient Greek φωνή (phōnḗ, “voice, sound”) + -λογία (-logía). With -ло́гія (-lóhija) ending. Compare Russian фоноло́гия (fonológija), Belarusian фанало́гія (fanalóhija), Polish fonologia.
