Bulgarian
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Borrowed from French talon (“heel, spur”) (evolved from Vulgar Latin *tālōnis), originally a partitive of Latin tālus (“ankle”) + -он (-on). Initially, the word referred to printed forms attached to a (bearer) bond, which the holder could use in order to require new physical copies of the bond's coupons.
