[edit]Inherited from Old Slovak potým, from Proto-Slavic *potomь. By surface analysis, univerbation of по (po) + тим (tim). Cognates include Belarusian по́тым (pótym), Polish potem, potym, Russian пото́м (potóm), Serbo-Croatian потом/potom, Slovak potom, and Ukrainian по́тім (pótim).
