поми́луя • (pomíluja) first-singular present indicative, impf (archaic)

1. (transitive) Alternative form of поми́лвам (pomílvam, “to grant pardon, to show mercy”)
2. (stative) to be merciful, forgiving

Usage notes

In the standard language, only the imperative поми́луй (pomíluj) is utilized, predominantly in prayers to God:

• Поми́луй нам, Бо́же! ― Pomíluj nam, Bóže! ― Show us mercy, God!
• Го́споди, поми́луй! ― Góspodi, pomíluj! ― Oh, Lord, be merciful!
