Bulgarian
[edit]Etymology
[edit]From плъж (plǎž, “slug”) (dialectal) + -ек (-ek). Ungrammatical -у- is probably due to convergence with dialectal Bulgarian плю́гам (pljúgam, “to taint, to blight”) (of expressive origin), related to Proto-Slavic *pľugavъ (“creepy, repulsive”).
