[edit]Inherited from Old Ruthenian па́сѣка (pásěka), from Proto-Slavic *pasěka. By surface analysis, па- (pa-) + сікти́ (siktý) + -а (-a). Compare Belarusian па́сека (pásjeka), Polish pasieka.
