Etymology
[edit]Inherited from Old East Slavic *осмьдесѧтꙑи (*osmĭdesętyi), *осмьдесѧтъи (*osmĭdesętŷi), from Proto-Slavic *osmьdesętъ (“80th”), from compound of *osmь (“8”) + *desę̃tъ (“10th”).[1] Cognate with Russian восьмидеся́тый (vosʹmidesjátyj), Old Church Slavonic осмьдесѧтꙑи (osmĭdesętyi) and Old Czech osmdesátý, osmedesátý.
