Cognate with Kazakh ұршық (ūrşyq), Uzbek urchuq, Karachay-Balkar урчукъ (urçuq, “spingle”), Khakas оорчых (oorçıx). also Hungarian orsó (“spingle”), an Onogur borrowing.
