[edit]From Proto-Turkic *oyna- (“to play”); suffixed with denominal verb-forming -оо (-oo, Proto-Turkic *-a). Cognates with Tofa ойна- (oyna-), Tuvan ойна- (oyna-), Khakas ойна- (oyna-), Southern Altai ойно- (oyno-), Kazakh ойна- (oina-), Turkish oyna-, etc.
