[edit]Form Proto-Permic *nu̇r, from Proto-Uralic *näre. Cognates include Eastern Mari нер (ńer) and Northern Sami nierra.
Permic cognates include Komi-Zyrian ныр (nyr) and Udmurt ныр (nyr).
