Borrowed from Mongolian ᠮᠡᠶᠢᠷᠡᠨ
ᠵᠠᠩᠭᠢ
(meyiren ǰanggi), from Manchu ᠮᡝᡳ᠌ᡵᡝᠨ
ᠵᠠᠩᡤᡳᠨ
(meiren janggin). Compare also Mongolian мэйрэн занги (mejren zangi), Chinese 梅勒章京 (méilè zhāngjīng).
