[edit]Borrowed from Japanese 漫画 (manga), from Middle Chinese 漫 (MC manH, “free, unrestrained”) + 畫 (MC hweaH|hweak, “drawing”). Doublet of ма́нхва (mánxva), маньхуа́ (manʹxuá), and ма́ньхва (mánʹxva).
