Etymology
[edit]Contraction of кӏира де (kʼira de, “week day”), calque of Middle Georgian კვირადღე (ḳviradɣe). Cognates include Ingush кӏиранди (kʼirandi), Bats კვირაჸო̆ (ḳviraʾŏ).
