Compare Classical Mongolian ᠬᠢᠲᠠᠳ (kitad), Written Oirat ᡍᡅᡐᠠᡑ (kitad); Mongolian хятад (xjatad), Buryat хитад (xitad), Kalmyk китд (kitd); and also Southern Altai кыдат (kïdat), Khakas хыдат (xıdat), dialectal Yakut кытат (kıtat, “warm land in the south where birds migrate to for winter”).
