[edit]Etymology
[edit]Inherited from Old East Slavic короваи (korovai), from Proto-Slavic *korvajь. Cognate with Russian карава́й (karaváj), Bulgarian крава́й (kraváj), Serbo-Croatian кра̀ва̄ј (“type of cake fed to the bride and groom”) (genitive крава́ја), Slovene kravȃj, krávaj.
