Etymology
[edit]From Proto-Selkup *k͔üə, from Proto-Samoyedic *koəj, from Proto-Uralic *kojwa.
Related to Finnish koivu and Hungarian hajó (“ship”). Cognates include Tundra Nenets хо (xo) and Northern Selkup ӄя (qja)
