Cognate with Karakhanid [script needed] (qarlïğač, “swallow”); Kazakh қарлығаш (qarlyğaş, “swallow”), Kyrgyz кардыгач (kardıgac, “swift (bird)”), Shor қарлығаш (“swallow”), Crimean Tatar qarılğaç, Uzbek qaldirg'och, Uyghur قالغاچ (qalghach), Turkish kırlangıç (“swallow”).
