Etymology

Borrowed from Tatar кәкәй (käkäy, meat) ultimately from Middle Mongol ᠭᠠᠬᠠᠢ (ɣaqai, pig).[1][2] According to Yegorov, it originally meant pork then later expanded into meat in general.
