[edit]From *каблꙋ́къ (*kablúk) + -ка (-ka). First attested in the 18th century.[1][2][3] Ultimately from Old East Slavic, from Proto-Slavic *ka-(o)blǫkъ. Compare dialectal Russian каблу́чка (kablúčka).
