[edit]From Proto-Turkic *ẹsürük (“drunk, intoxicated”), a participle from Proto-Turkic *ẹsür- (“to get drunk/intoxicated”).
Compare to Old Uyghur [script needed] (es(ü)rük, “drunk”); Karachay-Balkar эсирик (esirik, “drunk”), Southern Altai эзирик (ezirik, “drunk”), Khakas изірік (izìrìk, “drunk”), Tuvan эзирик (ezirik, “drunk”), Yakut итирик (itirik, “drunk”), etc.
