Cognate with Old Turkic [script needed] (erk), Old Uyghur [script needed] (erk, “power, will, dominance”);[1] Kazakh ерік (erık), Kyrgyz эрк (erk), эрик (erik), Southern Altai эрик (erik), Uzbek erk (“will, liberty”); see also Hungarian erő (“strength, force, power”).
