Borrowed from Old Church Slavonic зрьцало (zrĭcalo), from Proto-Slavic *zьrcadlo. Compare Polish zwierciadło, Serbo-Croatian зр̀цало / Serbo-Croatian zr̀calo. Doublet of native зе́ркало (zérkalo).
