[edit]From Old East Slavic дългота (dŭlgota), from Proto-Slavic *dьlgota. By surface analysis, до́вгий (dóvhyj) + -ота́ (-otá). Cognate with Belarusian даўгата́ (daŭhatá), Russian долгота́ (dolgotá), Serbo-Croatian дуго̀та, Slovene dołgóta.
